I have a photocopy of a letter written in 1817 in Greenock, Scotland, by James BARR to his "Dear Daughter" (unnamed) in Quebec. In the letter he mentions that he spent one night at "your Aunt Mrs AITKINS." She also mentions that Mrs. AITKINS corresponded with "Dear Daughter" through her daughter, cousin to James BARR's daughter in Quebec. On the IGI I found a James AIKINS who married 23 Jan 1679, Kilbarchan, Renfrew, Jean ALLISON / ALLASON. Does anyone identify with this family? And can you identify the relationship of the AIKINS family (or ALLISON family) and the James BARR, correspondent. dick barr Syracuse, New York
