Hello list I am new to the list researching the Hearkness/Harkness family from Southdean area in Scotland. John Hearkness born c 1760, married Helen E Scott in 1798 and they both died c1846. Son William Scott Hearkness born c 1805, married Margaret Oliver 1835 in Southdean, Roxburgh. Children: John Scott H, Helen Scott H, William Scott H, Oliver H, Charles Scott H, and Walter Scott Harkness, all came out to Australia. Thank you for any help Alison, New Zealand
