Hello-- My cousin and I are planning a trip to Scotland in the fall to research our Scottish names (Hutton, Corbet, Gourlie) and would like some guidance on how to proceed. Specifically, what can we do beforehand. I have some of the birth and marriage records from the LDS but will probably start over since it's been three or four years since I did any research and the resources have grown considerably since that time. Second, what's the best way to proceed once we get there? How can we find out what days the documents offices are open, which ones to pursue, etc.? Any ideas or guidance would be gratefully accepted.
