Lucille: I saw your posts on SCOTLAND-GENWEB. There is no such thing as a bargain version of Outlook express. They are all the same, no matter which computer you buy. There are several good books available for beginners. (I'm one as of August last year.) I went to Barnes and Noble and bought "The Internet and World Wide Web Simplified" by IDG Books from Marin Graphics. The books are 3-D Visual. An absolute beginner can follow the pictures - believe me, I did it!! If you are over 50 years old, you might consider taking a beginners course at your local SeniorNet. Retired volunteers teach other seniors (over 50) to use computers. SeniorNet is world-wide. Try www.seniornet.org to find the class nearest you. Good luck. Eileen > My program just has "New Folder", "Rename", Compact" and "Compact All > Folders". I guess I have a bare-bones Outlook Express. Am beginning to > wonder if I really got a bargain on this machine! (The manufacturer filed > for bankruptcy in August!!) > Lucille > -----Original Message----- > From: Shirley Thompson <jt@thegrid.net> > To: SCOTLAND-GENWEB-L@rootsweb.com <SCOTLAND-GENWEB-L@rootsweb.com>
