Dear fellow listers, R. Bell in his "Book of Scots-Irish Family Names" says that the latter surname was anglicized to CHRISTISON and CHRISTY(IE) and is exclusively Scottish. G.Black in "Surnames of Scotland" is silent on this subject, altho both authors report that the two surnames are most common in Fife and sorounding areas. Does anyone with these families in their Trees or knowledge of the names confirm or refute Bell's conclusion? Both names mean roughly 'son of the Servant of Christ'. Thanks for any help, Daphne
