Hi I have just recently come to this site and wondered if some one could help me. I am trying trace my great grandmothers family of the Chapman's. I understand they may have have come from the Perth - Scotland area. Sorry this is new trite for merry My g/grandmothers name is Emily Maud Chapman b. c. 1862. she married a William Henry Ferens in 1897 in Durham, Eng. They moved to Essex and Emily died in 1949. But before I get and b, m, d certificates I need some extra info on Emily. The main reason for this email is that after some trying to find some connections in Durham of the above mentioned family. I received some information of the Chapmans. The Chapman line of my great g/mother is are decedents of the Earls of Perth and in those days the Black Douglas and the Dow ells were one clan. Well as to my dilemma, I was wondering if any one may have my g/grandmother and her clan in their family tree and would like to shed some light my way. Many thanks from New Zealand Felicity
