Hello, again, It has been a while since I posted my interests and am pleased to send my new names as found by my Aberdeen researcher, Eileen BAILEY. Previously I was looking for connections to ANDERSON/(Mc)GEORGE and had no success, but Eileen has found that which I needed and I'd like to share: Wiliam ANDERSON, wife unknown, had the following children: Margaret, 1737 James, 1741-1839 §William 1742-1829 John 1745, m Jean CROCKERT/CROCKETT, d 1833 George 1752 Wiliam ANDERSON, s/o William in Hatton, married Ann GEORGE d/o William GEORGE and Margaret SMITH , who were married 17 Nov 1731. William and Ann had the following: Margaret 1774 George 1775 m Margaret ANDERSON, d/o John ANDERSON and Jean CROCKERT, d 1864 in Old Babithan William 1778 m Isabella MAITLAND, d 1858 §Alexander 1780 m Sarah BROWN, d 1863 Ann had the following sibs: James, Christian, and Elizabeth. [Eileen did not include the dates. All are buried in plot #40 in the cemetery at Fintray, Hatton, according to the lay-out of the cemetery. Unfortunately, that which Eileen sent me starts with plot # 71 and goes to plot #248] John and Jean CROCKERT, d/o Robert CROCKETT and Margaret HENDERSON, had the following children: Margaret 1791 in Tarves, d 1824 Elspet 1794-1873 Jean 1798 m James MACKIE, d 1883, Lairhill Cottage Agnes 1803-1854 (Jean had a sister, Margaret, who died at the age of 104, 17 Apr 1866, at Hill of Keir) George and Margaret ANDERSON had the following children: Anne 1806 in Keithall & Kinkell, George 1807-1872 William 1809- Robert 1810 m Christina IRONSIDE, d/o Robert IRONSIDE and Jane PRATT/PROTT, d 1876 James 1813-1839 Alexander 1817, whom Eileen thinks married Margaret REID Jean ANDERSON and James MACKIE, s/o James MACKIE and Agnes SKENE, had the following: Jane 1826-1833 James 1829-1861 Elspet 1831-1861 Helen 1833-1834 Isabella/Isabel 1835-1917 Margaret 1837-1902 Alexander and Margaret REID had the following: An unnamed baby girl 1862 George Alexander 1864 Margaret Isabella 1866 [The names and other data are what lead Eileen to believe this Alexander is appropriate to this family] The last ANDERSON connection for whom I am looking is that of Isabel ANDERSON and JOHN FORBES, married in 1768. Eileen found reference to such connection, but nothing is proven, and 130 years intervene. She states that when Margaret MACKIE, (d/o Jean ANDERSON and James MACKIE) died in 1902, the informant was a William FORBES, nephew, of East Bog, Fintray. When Isabella MACKIE died in 1917, the informant was Maggie FORBES, niece, of Schoolhouse, Dummour, Dunkeld. At any rate, these are my ANDERSON connections as discovered and verified by Eileen. I hope some of you who have been asking about these new names will recognize a link. I'd love to hear from you. Lynn Prettyman Baltimore, Maryland, USA marylindsay@worldnet.att.net
