    3. Hi Lucille Re Laing Terrace in Hawick, they are all houses that are "up a close" or as you say apartments in buildings, hence the "A", "B" or "1", "2", etc, I live in Hawick and Laing Terrace is still there, next door is Hawick's "Station Hotel" although the station is long gone!!! Hope this helps Regards Ian Check out the old Hawick photos and many other old Scottish Border photos at my website address below. ian@ettrick-graphics.freeserve.co.uk http://www.ettrick-graphics.freeserve.co.uk (Old Scottish Borders Photo Archive) http://www.blind-hope.freeserve.co.uk (Scottish Borders Blues Band) ----- Original Message ----- From: Lucille A Richmond <cwrichmond@snet.net> To: <SCOTLAND-GENWEB-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 15, 1999 3:44 AM Subject: Re: Personal Ancestral File Update > Good evening, John: > > Could you explain why, when I'm looking for 3 Laing Terrace, Hawick, > Roxburghshire, I get a list of addresses as follows: > 2/1 Laing Terrace > 3/1 Laing Terrace > 1a Laing Terrace > 1b Laing Terrace > 1c Laing Terrace > 1d Laing Terrace > 1e Laing Terrace > 2/2 Laing Terrace > 2/3 Laing Terrace > 3/2 Laing Terrace > 3/3 Laing Terrace ?? > > I was looking for the home of two sisters, Mary and Margaret Sanderson, who > lived at 3 Laing Terrace.
