I've got a business trip planned to Amsterdam in early November, and I'd like to take a week and flip over to Aberdeen for some genealogy research. I have been searching the web for hours trying to find a cheap way to get from AMS to ABZ and the best I can do is $309 US+taxes! That's a good deal more than I had in mind, so I'm looking for suggestions: 1 - might it be better to fly in to Glasgow (more or cheaper flights) and then drive? 2 - is there a boat crossing from Amsterdam to Aberdeen that might be OK? 3 - any other suggestions ... no suggestion is too crazy for me!
