Dear Folks: Can't remember who asked this but Home boys were children who were either orphaned or abandoned by their parents (because they couldn't look after them..usually due to poverty.) who were placed in homes ( by this I mean institutions) in England and then sent to Canada to work generally on farms. This practice covered many years into the l920s. A lot of these children went to good homes and were raised as one of the family. Unfortunately, many were mistreated and abused.
