I am researching the SPEDDEN, SPEDDAN, SPADEN FAMILY; in particular a HEW or HUGH SPEDDEN. I have found a Christening record for HEW SPEDDAN, 29 Sep 1667, Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. Father: JOHN SPEDDAN (SPADEN, SPEDDEN). Mother: Catharine Grinley (GRINDLAY, GRINLAY). Other siblings, AGNES and JOHN were christened at Saint Cuthberts, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. Sibling, JEAN, was also Christened at Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh, Mithlothian, Scotland. JOHN SPEDDAN and CATHARINE GRINLEY were married 30 Aug 1667, Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. I am trying to determine if this HEW SPEDDAN is the same HUGH SPEDDEN who is first noted in MARYLAND in the US around 1700. Any help in locating wills for any of this family would be greatly appreciated. Also, any other ideas on how I should proceed would be invaluable. I have searched ships' passengers' lists but have not found anything yet. I have not been able to find an actual marriage record but am fairly certain Hugh married a MARY IMPEY in Maryland circa 1700. Their first child was born in 1703 in Maryland. Thanks for any help.
