Hi Janis, I saw your note on the web on Reid, I believe you are connected with my Reid's and your information that family history stating James is from Edinburgh is very interesting to me. I have been on Scots origin sight and also have their marriage certificate. My James Reid married Janet on April 9, 1828, in Duntocher, Scotland and immediately immigrated to the United States and continued on into Canada where he settled with his family. They had the following children: Archibald, John, James, Jessie, Robert, Margaret, and Euphemia. I would love to compare notes with you and I have a possibility of James' parents that I found on Scots origin but they are not from Edinburgh but Glasgow. They are Francis Reid and Ann Ogilvie.
