Dear list, I am new to this list and have joined in the hope that I may be able to find out what part of Scotland my ancestor Andrew Hunter FINLAYSON came from. I have exhausted the IGI, Scots Origins and Tasmanian Archives. I have his marriage certificate (where he was married in London), father's name (Robert) and approximate age (born 1815 - 1822). I had 3 close calls on the IGI and Scots Origins but all 3 (from Newton, Penecuik and Dunblane) have all proved NOT to be my man. Can anyone tell if there are still parts of Scotland that the IGI and Scots Origins don't have birth records for? Any other advice on how to find MY MAN would be much appreciated.
