I am new to the list so thought I'd register my main surname interest which is LIVINGSTON(E) I have always been told we are descended from one of Dr. Davids Uncles. So far my research has taken me back to a Robert Livingston of Dalry, Ayrshire born c 1809 whose father was John. Was this the John born 1775 in Ulva? Robert married a Margaret Brown in 1828 in Dalry and had numerous children, John, James, Robert, Janet(married John MacAllister) William,David, Hugh, Alexander. They were living in Sharon St. Dalry in 1851. James married Jane McCubbin in 1855, they had 3 children, Alexander b.1857, John b1859 and Robert b1856 a stone mason (my g-grandad) who left Scotland and married Catherine Briggs in Blackburn, Lancashire in 1881. However by 1891 he had left his family, rumour has it he returned to Scotland, but he had definitely died by June 1903. Has anyone any information about this family or that of John Livingston uncle of David born 1775 in Ulva, I know his parents were Neil Livingston and Mary Morriston but don't know who he married or the names of any of his children etc. Susan in Lancashire (GEldri7378@aol.com)
