I know it can be a bit risky but then I've never had a problem myself with sending bank notes for smallish transactions. I enclose the notes in a separate envelope, folded up inside the outer envelope, which I register. I've been doing this for about twelve years without loss. English banknotes can be ordered through your local bank branch - if you have one left :-) - or purchased through a Thomas Cook travel agency.
