Hi Everyone I am new to this list and my name is Robin. The families that I am researching are. William MacKay born abt 1808 Edderton ROC, wife Isabel Munro born abt 1811 Tain,William and Isabel married 1824 in either Tain or Edderton. Their children were Janet 1829, Christian 1830, Andrew 1832[my g.g.grandfather], Margaret 1836, Bell 1839 and William 1842. My g.g.grandfather Andrew McKay's wife was Catherine Gibson born 1824 in Dornach,Sutherland, her parents were Donald Gibson and Janet MacKay of Sutherland. Andrew and Catherine's children were Unnamed boy 1860, Donald George 1861, Isabella 1863[g.grandmother] and Alexander 1865, all born in Fearn, Ross and Cromarty. My g.grandmother had my grandfather Andrew MacKay July 1 1891 in Balnain, Urray, ROC out of wedlock. Andrew left Scotland at the age of 13 and came to Canada, where he lived until he died in 1968. Unfortunatly I know virtually nothing else about my family in Scotland, and have come up against brick walls for the Gibsons of Sutherland, the Munros of Tain, William MacKay of Edderton and my g.grandmother Isabella MacKay.
