Hello, I'm interested in obtaining copies of Greenock, Inverclyde streetmaps of around the 1850 and 1900. If anyone can point me in the direction of an address to contact, I'd be grateful. Best wishes James.Maxwell@tesco.net

Hi Allan, do you by any chance know where Helen Robertson was born. I have an Emma Robertson who was born around 1877 to James Robertson & Emma McBeth/ McBeath. I think they were from Glasgow but haven't found them in LDS. Let me know if this is a possibility. Carolyn McInnes
Thanks for the quick response. Jim the closest date at the CDN archives was 1833. Walter I'll try that list. Thanks for the address Sue. Vessel, Albion sailed Dundee 1809 Arrived PEI 14 June 1809 with 39 passengers. Looking for the passenger/crew list for this vessel. Thanks Kev
As far as I know the only place you can view information is on the GRO site and Scots Origins. I wish there was a place to see them. I need to look at them too. Good luck. Judy
Are the OPR's on any web sites? Janet
I seen a book on one of the sites for sale named: "Scottish American Heirs, 1683-1883 by David Dobson" Has anyone seen this book and does have information worth while? I'm mostly looking for the BRUCE name. thanks in advance, barb
Good Day All! I am searching for information on Robert Livingstone, son of Dr. David Livingstone. Robert died in the American Civil War fighting for the North, and while I have his date of death, December 5, 1864, I have been unsuccessful in finding anything else about his military service. Robert's great grandmother, Mary Morrison, was the sister of my g-g-g-g-g grandfather, Charles Morrison. Thanks for any assistance. Respectfully, Jeff Fioravanti
Your best source for Immigrant Ships and Passenger lists would be the Ships List by Rootsweb. Send an email message to the following URL: TheShipsList-D-Request@rootsweb.com Leave the subject line blank. In the text area put only one word "subscribe" without the quotation marks.
David Dobson has written several books on Scots abroad extracting the data from bona fide records. They are therefore quite useful. The one on heirs is probably info taken from Retours and Services of Heirs and perhaps testaments. In any case his books are very commonly found in any library pretending to have a genealogical section so they are not difficult to find. Try interlibrary loan if you are not close to a good one. Hallo Lucille, Glad you managed to find something in the end. It's a long time since May. By the way I am no longer working in Italy. I am back in Norway now. Best Regards, From, Michael.
Hello, Michael I FINALLY found the ship I was looking for - SS CASSANDRA, sailed from Glasgow July 3, 1909; arrived Quebec, Que. July 12, 1909. We were a few years off, but not by many! If I receive an automated response saying you're out of office for a certain length of time, you will be unsubbed. There is no sense in the list receiving this response for each message that someone sends. So therefore, if your mail program is set up for that, try to remember to unsub first. Thanks, Cheryl ListMistress
Hi everyone! Could someone tell me what information/records are located in Stirling and where they would be if someone were to visit that area in person? The specific places would be Kippen, Drymen and Falkirk and time frame is for early to mid 1850's. Does anyone know what condition the headstones are in at the cemeteries? Any information regarding this would be a great help and may save someone a wasted trip or make then better prepared before they left. Cheers Aileen Power Ontario, Canada

Perhaps I was marked as out of the office because my mailbox was full I have cleared a backlog and compressed files. Will this help? Jim McPherson
Hello Cheryl List mistress Scotland-genweb, I dont understand why you got this message that I am out of the office? I did notice on my incoming mail that I was unsubbed or unsubscribed and a few messages later that I was re-subscribed, I did not take any action to unsubscribe in the first place. ??? Jim McPherson
