Hi List, My GREGOR MCKINNON was born in 1745-9 Isle of Skye, came to North Carolina date unknown........fought as Loyalist in Rev War and then to New Brunswick Canada in 1783........I have never found him coming to America on a ships list or going to N.B on a ships list. I have no knowledge of his parents who "may" have brought him to N.C. when young or he may have come later. Heard rumors he was in the 23rd Regt , but in the Rev War he was in the North Carolina Volunteers...(have him on a muster list) his widow states he was a York volunteer in her request for a widows pension in 1840.........this gggg is a brick wall........there are so many McKinnon's in NC but I haven't connected as yet...... thanks list........Linda in Canada

There is a family of TRAQUAIR's in Edmonton Alberta, Robert worked on the Railway and his wife Janet worked for National Defence - they were originally from Manitoba and are of Scotch decent. They are listed in the white pagesin Edmonton, under Robert - the others are their children, I beleive there will be 3 listings. Hi Sheila, Thank you for your note, but I am a little confused by it. I am not sure who you mean when you ask for Jennie's maiden name. I am only asking for the county in which a parish lies. This research refers to the surname AITKEN and the other Scottish names that I have are CAITHNESS from Dundee in Angus and WILLIAMSON for Northmavine in Shetland isles. Unfortunately I cannot help you with GRAHAMs. Regards Pat Melbourne, Aust. Hi Pat, I am not sure if there is a connection or not. Oh, yes, I am sure there is a connection - naming patterns of families and all suggest that that would most certainly be the case - and then that Edward was also an Orchardist/nursery man - almost cinches it, don't you think. I will try to locate a biography of Edward and see if it tells where he is from.
