I came across Thomas MacFadyen about a week ago! He registered the death of my g-great grandmother, Janet Gilchrist,(in Calton) in May 1860. He described himself as 'Second Cousin'. I was able to find him & family in 1861 census at 2 Stirling St Tradeston, Glasgow Govan. I'm still trying to find the connection,but if he had a daur named Janet Gilchrist Mac.. there must be one.(I was doubting it!) You posted your query some time ago.Perhaps you could help me !
