    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: GordonPertJohnson Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/11308.3.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The Scottish Civil Registration is for births, marriages, and deaths. Burial is a personal matter, although, between 1856 and 1860 ONLY, the undertaker's details were recorded on the death certificate, along with place of burial. Most modern undertakers have very poor records of the burials, in my experience, or else they refuse public access to their company records. You would have better luck with either the church or the local authority cemetery administration, depending on when the death occurred. The death of the child might be recorded on a family gravestone, but not always. Gordon Johnson. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
