John Allan b. abt. 1815, his wife Jennett b. abt. 1815 and at least 2 sons James b. 1841 and Joseph b. 1846 came to Canada in 1851 according to any records I can find but this is not confirmed. John would have been mid 40's when he brought the family to Canada and he was a shoemaker by trade and continued this trade in Canada.
