My Antique Atlas shows Nairn-shire, between Moray-shire, and Inverness Firth. There are two towns marked, Nairn and Auldearn, and two rivers, Nairn and Findhorn. "Nairn" was often mentioned in the TV Series of "Hamish MacBeth". HTH.
