I am descended from Peter Grant c 1769 - 1848 and Janet Ballantine c 1782 -1865. However Peter Grant according to the Census of 1841 was not from Ayrshire. I have looked a little at earlier Grant families in Irvine. I have a Ludovic mc 12/4/1702 Lodowick mc. 30/1/1704 Helen fc 24/11/1706 Alexander mc 14/5/1710 Janet fc 28/9/1712 Mary fc 30/1/1715 James mc 9/12/1716 Simeon mc 20/8/1718 Simeon mc 11/10/1719 Elizabeth fc 4/12/1720 Anna fc 17/2/1723 All were the children of John Grant and Kathrin Dick.
