All the a children I mentioned were born in Irvine Ayrshire. I don't know anything about Alexander. I found a John Grant and Margaret Euin - 1 child to them Elizabeth fc 23/7/1738 Irvine. Thomas Grant and Mary Livingston children Alexander mc 28/10/1744 Alexander mc 13/5/1746 Anne fc 27/3/1748 James mc 10/11/1751 James mc 4/10/1753 Mary fc 18/9/1754 Agnes fc 14/101756 Mary fc 6/5/1759 All Born Irvine Ayrshire Mungo Grant ( Mungo quite a common name in Ayrshire) wife Anne Semple daughter Mary fc 15/9/1751 Irvine James Grant and Mary Boyd children Margaret fc 9/9/1759 Elizabeth fc 9/11/1760 Elizabeth fc 18/7/1763 All Irvine These are the earliest Grants I have found. I don't know if any are related. As my own Peter Grant c1769 who was a weaver may not have come from Irvine. Perhaps the Ludovic who went to the States was the brother of the John Grant who married Kathrin Dick? The OPR's Irvine don't start until late 1680's.
