Hi,All, As a new subscriber to this list I am posting my particular family interests and looking to contact anyone with connections. Samuel Thomson M. Mary Ann Hamilton 1/5/1853 at Kirkmichael . Ayrshire from where they moved to the Wigtownshire area ending up in Stranraer. I have lots of information on the family from the date of their marriage but nothing relating to the Kirkmichael area and I would really appreciate any information which would throw some light on the reason for their marriage being held at Kirkmichael. I know that the parents of Mary Ann were Alexander Hamilton and Ann Jane Cairns who married 8/12/1829 at Dromore, County Down. Did they eventually move to Kirkmichael or was it the family of Samuel who lived there? Maybe there was another reason. Any help would be appreciated. Other families connected are Stitts, Robert and Jessie ms. Conning from Wigtown. Turner ,John and Margaret ms. Stitt Whauphill/ Stranraer. Hope these names ring a bell with someone. Bill.
