His brother would have been Charles, born ca 1861. Yes...I have tried that website and variations and wildcard searches on both his names. Still come up nil. I have no clue to any locations other than the fact that he is reputed to have been born in Glasgow or the Glasgow area. I also apologize to anyone who received duplications of my query. I was not aware that by posting this to various messageboards would cause some folks a duplication problem. Sue
