    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EgC.2ACE/2993.4659.1.1.1.2 Message Board Post: I did not read your message carefully. I am at <<bshields@pwshift.com>>. My own family tree is not wholly relevant -- my grandfather's uncle Alexander Shields (ii) married Jane Carnduff Calderwood of East Galway, NY. in 1847. She was known in our family as Great Aunt Jane. My grandfather's brother married married Jane's niece, also from E. Galway, who was also named Jane Carnduff Calderwood -- commonly called Jennie. And Robert Calderwood of Craftsbury married Agnes Shields, sister of Alexander ii. I found the retention of names to be exceptionally confusing in the Calderwood family, and a professional researcher I hired almost gave up! But I think I have it sorted out. The family to which I relate all trace back to Blackbyre farm in Fenwick parish. Blackbyre farm is on the SE side of Fenwick, just a half mile from Loudoun parish from which the Shieldses and numerous other Vermont family hail. Bruce.
