Hi Listers I too am interested in the Fisher surname. PETER FISHER was born in KILLIN in 1825, the son, so I thought from looking at the IGI and Scotland's People, of DUNCAN FISHER and MARGARET MCARTHUR BUT Peter's son DONALD states on his father's death certificate that PETER'S parents were ALEXANDER FISHER & CATHERINE MCFARLANE. I could find no evidence at the A& K Bell Library while on holiday in Perth, with the help of the wonderful archivist, that his parents were the latter 2. So do you think that the son had made a mistake? Does anyone have access to the 1841 KILLIN or CALLANDAR Census - Peter is in CALLANDAR in 1851. He would have been about 16 in 1841 and so might still have been living with his parents and, therefore, I might solve the mystery. Many thanks for any light you can shed on this mystery. Barbara
