Hello Sharon, I'm not sure why you've put this on the Scotland list. Isabelle & Frank BRIGHAM show up on the 1880 US census in Nebraska www.familysearch.org . Her birthplace, AND the birthplace of her parents is given as "B.Amer." which I trust is British America. This is a reference to the British Colonies in America - present day Canada, and also the British colonies in the US until 1776. Given the time period you're talking about, I'd guess they meant Canada. Your best bet I think would be to trace the marriage of Frank/Isabella for her parents' names, and the 1890 and 1900 US census to narrow down her death year, then order the certificate. Interestingly, if you look up FLETT in Nebraska in 1880 US census, you find James & Mary, in the same town as Isabelle & Frank BRIGHAM, who give birth years consistent with being Isabelle's parents, and who give their birth places as "B.Amer." as well. Worth looking at.
