    1. Good day I am new to this list and at a loss as to where to look for my husband's surname. The last name being STUART. All I have for this family is that the grandfathers name was John Baptist Stuart (French sounding) and he was suposed to have orginated from Scotland. No dates at all. They moved to South Africa where I have picked up a marriage for a 2nd John Baptiste Stuart to a Mary Ann Colins. If anybody could advise me where to start looking for the "STUART" spelling of the surname I would appreciate it. Given that the name is spelt Stuart and not Stewart, I seem to be having difficulty picking up a thread. Thank you Sharleen
