Author: rmck30 Surnames: McKenzie Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/501.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi David, sorry you lost track of me ..we have moved and E-mail has changed...you can get me at [email protected] interest has been recharged by Remembrance day here in Canada...my grandfather John Thomson Mckenzie fought in the 2nd battle at Ypres and was gassed and shot...he actually had his own death certificate in England as they had thought he was dead...He was one of the first to enlist in the Canadian Expeditionary Force and fight at Flanders Fields.......while he was in England recovering but still enlisted he married a woman who died giving birth to my uncle Cameron Mckenzie (my dad's brother)......my father Jack Wallace McKenzie is still alive at 84 yrs of age and lives in New Westminster now the same city he was born in......his father remarried after the war so Cameron and him were actually 1/2 brothers.....give me an e mail and we will exchange more info....thks Ross Mckenzie......
