Unlike with baptisms/births and marriage banns, the parish records hold very few death records. Some parishes give a list of those for whom a mortcloth was hired out - but generally they only give the deceased's name, with no other useful info. Your best best bet is if you know where the person is likely to have died. Many graveyards have had their gravestones transcribed and published by volunteers, and many of these are available in libraries/ family history societies etc. Is the individual on the 1841 or 1851 census ?
