Help. I have exhausted every database that I can find on the internet paid or free. My Maggie cannot be found. The November 27, 1897 marriage registration of Maggie Baxter (b. abt 1877), in Stirling, Stirlingshire, Scotland and James McNay,(b.Aug.20, 1874) in Bridgeton, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, states they were married at the United Presbyterian Church in Stewarton, Ayrshire, Scotland. Her parents are recorded as James Baxter and Elizabeth MacAulay both deceased. At that time she was working as a farm servant and living at 9 High Street, Stewarton, Aryshire, Scotland. The date on the marriage registration confirmed on the birth certificates or registration of their 5 children : Robert Paterson Aitchison McNay (b. June 20, 1899), Elizabeth (b. May 22,1901), Maggie Baxter McNay (b. May 10, 1903 d. Jan 10, 1904), John McNay (b. August 27, 1904), James McNay (b. January 31, 1907) and Maggie Baxter Aitchison McNay (b. May 27, 1910). All born in or around Beith, Ayrshire, Scotland. By 1911 Maggie was living at Lorimer's, Westfield Rows, Cardenden, Fife Scotland, separated from husband James, but maintaining custody of two youngest children. The oldest 3 are in the care of Quarriers, Orphan Homes of Scotland. James is working as a cattleman at Kinnimouth, Kinglassie, Fife, Scotland, unable to care for the 3 oldest because of ill health She immigrated to Medicine Hat, Alberta Canada in 1914, aboard the Hesperian, the 2 youngest children left in the care of relatives of James McNay and they became wards of Quarriers in 1916. I have even looked at variations of the surname Macaulay and thought perhaps it was Mcanally, but that does not lead anywhere either to a birth of a Maggie Baxter with parent of James and Elizabeth. Knowing that two of the children's names contain the surname of Aitchison as a forename , I have looked in that direction as well. I found her in the 1901 Census of Scotland, but not in any of the others. I have looked at other UK Census from 1871 through 1891 and have not found Maggie. I have looked for Death registration here in Canada and in the USA , No Luck As I said, help, I don't know what I am not doing, to locate her Thanks Dona C
