The aim of this project is to transcribe the Old Parish Registers for a free-to-view site similar to that of its sister projects, FreeCEN and FreeBMD. It is a great way to give back something to those people who have helped you along the way, and is an opportunity to view the pages as they were actually written. To take part you will need to own or have access to a Microfiche/film reader and the ability to construct a simple spreadsheet on your computer. Software is provided along with lots of support. We need transcribers (lots) and also more County co-ordinators who will look after the distribution of film and files.
