I do know who the landlord was - Alexander Forbes Irvine of The Drum - and no there is no relationship to the family. Actually, John Mackie had a new landlord in the mid-1820s, he moved from the Schivas estate to a croft on the neighboring estate of Haddo where his landlord was the Earl of Aberdeen who later became Prime Minister of the UK. Most of my forebears were tenant farmers on estates - and I have several other instances of children being named for the landlord. Marie B.
