You can search and download any BMD's from 1855 at www.scotlandspeople.gov..uk credit/debit charge apply. Since you now where the children were born and their approx. years of birth it should be fairly easy to get a hit first time, from one of the birth certs. you will find out where and when their parents married, and if they married in Scotland, (note, that births from 1856 to 1860 do not give details of parent's marriage) would be an easy search for their marriage certificate, which in turn will give you the names of both sets of parents.
