There was a David Davidson from Holland who was naturalized in James City County, VA in 1686, and he had land there since at least 1682. This could have been the same David Davidson. In nearby Charles City County, VA, an Alexander Davidson was on jury duty as early as the 1660s. This man and David may have been from the same basic Davidson family, based on several factors (including both families using David, Edward and Stephen as given names, and based on both families eventually being in Cumberland County, VA together at one point). There was also a Philemon Davidson in the Charles City County, VA Davidsons. Any help on the these Scottish Davidsons, at least some of whom came here by way of Holland, would be appreciated. Thanks!
