I'm hoping that with the way you say it went I can find the additional information I'm looking for. My 3rd g-grandfather's name was John Robertson Urquhart and I'm hoping the Robertson comes from his mother's maiden name. So far I haven't found an Urquhart married to a Robertson who had a son named John in 1800-1810. But the names on John's wife's side match up with the custom. So I'll keep checking and digging.
