My g grandfather William Friend McRitchie was adopted when he was born, I found this information from the 1891 census. He was also illigitamate as on his birth certificate are his brith parents names, Malcolm McRitchie and Maggie Friend. I am just wondering if anyone could give me information on where to go from here or am I at a complete hault.
