    3. I have a marriage record for Edward SCANLON & Mary Ann QUIN dated 1869, March 20th in District of Milton, Glasgow. Information on cert. Edward Scanlon Iron master Laborer age: 21 address: 16 Society Row Glasgow. Father: Edward Scanlon deceased mother Catherine Scanlon nee CASSIDY MaryAnn QUIN cotton factory worker, spinster age 20 address: 14 Society Row, Glasgow. Father: Peter Quin deceased mother: Catherine Quin nee McGINN deceased They were married at St. Joseph's R.C. Church Glasgow. The church record clearly states Edward Scanlon & Mary Ann Quin married March 16, 1869 witnesses: John COYLE & Ann MACKAY. One the 1871 Census: Richard SCANLAN born 1846 in Ireland married to Mary Ann SCANLON born 1844 in Scotland address 16 Society Row Glasgow. There our other SCANLAN's also at this address as well as QUIN'S at 14 Society Row. Edward SCANLON left for New York 1873, May & MaryAnn QUIN followed with 2nd son Peter SCANLON in September, 1873. 1st son John must have died. I have never been able to find any other records in Scotland for Edward SCANLON & MaryAnn Quin all the ages & first names don't match. Should I assume that Richard SCANLAN is my g grandfather? I have not found Richard SCANLAN on any other records (US/Scot) nor Edward SCANLON in Ireland/Scotland. Thanks, Gwen
