I would like to find a direct descendant of theirs to pass on a wonderful document that has come into my possession. I am not connected to this family in any way but my curiousity has got the best of me and I want to see this document pass into the correct hands. It was found beneath the floorboards of a house in Windsor where Dr. Mackay once lived before his marriage to Jessie.It is a handwritten letter to her future husband. I am going to be in Nova Scotia this summer and would love to be able to deliver this treasure in person. Hopefully there are descendants still living in the area. I have found some information on Ancestry and Family Search about John St. Clair MacKay but nothing much on Elsie/Jessie. The couple married September 9, 1903 and they had two known children: Daughter Pauline born in 1904, who was at the time of her Father's death (1924) unmarried and was training as a nurse in Bellevue Hospital in New York and a son Peter St.Clair MacKay who was born abt. 1910. Ideally it would be any direct descendant of these two that I would like to get in touch with. What I know about John, whom she called "Jack" is that he was a respected Doctor, the son of John and Jane MacKay of Earltown, N.S. He was one of 12 children: 1. There were three living sisters when John died; Hattie, single, was a nurse in Halifax and Annabelle (Belle)single, who was still living in Earltown and also one who married a Mr. G.M. Cambell.
