He was born in Ireland and immigrated to the U.S. The question I have though is that before he came to the U.S. he and a brother went from Ireland to Scotland and were Linen Merchants there. This would have been ca. 1795-1818. My question is or was there a trade union or orginization that they might have been in? Something that would have registered them?
