John Mackey, born ~1726, (reportedly in Ireland, but I think it was Scotland) married Ann Alexander, born ~1735 (again, reportedly in Ireland but think she was born in Scotland as well). I believe they were part of the Ulster-Scots migration to Northern Ireland. They married (reportedly) in Ireland ~1751, and that same year, immigrated to America. Arrived in Pennsylvania (via Philadelphia?), settled there for a few years, had two children (Mary and James), then moved to North Carolina. Info seems to indicate that John and Ann made the trip along with John's two brothers, William and Thomas. Have decent documentation (early census, war and land records, etc.) AFTER their arrival in America...family name then was spelled "Mackey" but may have been variant (Mackay, McKie, Mackie, etc.) in Scotland/Ireland. Any help, assistance or suggestions to continue search in Scotland/Ireland would be greatly appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
