Author: frankmcgurrin Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/22266.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I had a quick look at the 'Scotlands People' website, web address given below, and there was a Margaret Coffied born in Falkirk, Stirling, Scotland in 1911. The certificate can not be viewed on-line but you can order it. Margaret B Coffield married Percival E Pallett in the first quarter of 1932 in Birmingham, England. The reference details can be found on Ancestry free bmd. There was a Percival Pallett, aged 2 years, listed in the 1911 census in a household in King's Norton, Worcestershire, England. He is likely the one as the only other Percival Pallett in the 1911 census is aged 27 years. http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ Good luck. Author: archdoodler Surnames: Goodman, Tennent Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/22262/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hey all, Was wondering if anyone knew anything about the Tennent family, who lend their name to the brewery. I'm a distant descendent of them, but have no idea how. A branch ended up in India in the late Victorian era, and my grandmother's maiden name was Tennent until she married my Grandfather. The particular member I'm after is Joseph Tennent, who died in 1929. I know his last wife was Kathleen Goodman, born 1883 died 27 Nov 1928, and that she was his third wife. I'm wondering if anyone can make a connection and shed some light as to where I stand in relation to the Tennent family. Any help would be very welcome! Cheers Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you would like to reply to them, please click on the Message Board URL link above and respond on the board.

Author: KenKKellyJr Surnames: Kelley, Kelly, Lauthers Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/22261/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello, According to family tradition our Kelley ancestors may have emigrated from Scotland to Philadelphia PA USA. Edward Kelley was born between 1735-1750 possibly in Scotland or PA. His father may have been Thomas or William Kelley. During the 1790 US Census these three (3) Kelleys were living near each other in Franklin County PA. Edward Kelley married Elizabeth Lauthers about 1767. They had seven (7) children. The youngest of whom was Azariah Kelley, who is my direct line. Elizabeth's father may have been Thomas Lauthers. The Edward and Elizabeth Kelley family was living in Mifflin Co PA during the 1800 census. They were residing in Armstrong Co PA in the 1810 census. Edward Kelley died there in 1814. Does anyone have this lineage figured out and tied into Scotland? Thank you very much for any assistance that you might be able to provide.
