Unfortunately my browser does not support Java or other so am unable to access these 2 census indexes. I am looking for a John Dwyer age unk with a spouse unk daughter Mary born 1833 she would be age (8) 1841 and 18 (1851). Mary married 1853 Stepney Middlesex Co England to one John Hyland of Ireland. I am most curious to see where my Mary and her family originated from in Scotland. She may have been born Protestant but may have converted to Catholicism as they were married in the Catholic Church in Middlesex County. If someone can send these two pages as a JPeg or as a plain text thanks so much and have a good day from Wyoming USA
Why else. Illegitimate is not polictically correct especially in Europe. A spade is no longer a spade either. If it walks and quacks like a duck, it is a DUCK.

Author: KenKKellyJr Surnames: Lauthers, Kelley, Kelly Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/22274/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello, According to family tradition our Kelley ancestors may have emigrated from Scotland to Philadelphia PA USA. Edward Kelley was born between 1735-1750 possibly in Scotland or PA. His father may have been Thomas or William Kelley. During the 1790 US Census these three (3) Kelleys were living near each other in Franklin County PA. Edward Kelley married Elizabeth Lauthers about 1767. They had seven (7) children. The youngest of whom was Azariah Kelley, who is my direct line. Elizabeth's father may have been Thomas Lauthers. The Edward and Elizabeth Kelley family was living in Mifflin Co PA during the 1800 census. They were residing in Armstrong Co PA in the 1810 census. Edward Kelley died there in 1814. Does anyone have this lineage figured out and tied into Scotland? Thank you very much for any assistance that anyone might be able to provide. Kind regards, Ken Kelly kenkelly_98pa@live.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. THank you all, I did find after much googling someone here in the US who knits them and I am in the process of contacting her for further information. Elaine Sacramento CA USA
I can't knit a stitch but can crochet if you need anything further. Just say the word. I am here in WY. I could probably rustle up a pattern or two for you. Just say the word and it will be done.
My husband is a history buff, especially if it has to do with Scotland, his heritage. I am looking to purchase for him for Christmas a KNITTED lavat blue tam with a pom pom. It would be like the ones that were worn many years ago and today would probably be found by "a little old lady who knits" according to my husband, I am a "little old lady" unfortunately, I do not knit. It is not the one that is sold in most retail shops in Scotland with the checkered bottom. Any ideas of where I might find one in US or Scotland? Thank you. Elaine Sharp Sacramento CA USA

I need a quick look up for the following: John Dwyer Daughter: Mary 1841 age---8 1851 age---18 Married John Hyland of Ireland 18 May 1853 Stepney Middlesex Co England in the Catholic Church. Would like to find Marys' home place of birth if possible, her mothers' name, and other siblings. John was a coke (coal) dealer according to the Certificate of Marriage. Mary would have been born about 1833 if the record had the right age on it, said she was a Spinster.
After sending the message below, I found this page on the ScotlandsPeople web site: http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/content/help/index.aspx?r=554&628 I'm still not sure whether all the information listed on that page is included in extracts.
