    1. [SCOTLAND] Searching English records
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: lc1965 Surnames: Blaza Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/22409/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Perhaps someone will be able to help me with this? I find searching for records on ancestry sometime difficult to say the least and very frustrating, especially when I have previously found the right record ie the death of Philip Blaza in 1903 details from ancestry below: Name: Blaza, Philip Record Type: Deaths Age at death: 67 Quarter: March Year: 1903 District: Loddon County: Norfolk Volume: 4b Page: 140 Today searching for this record the search came back with anything other than this record, so I gave up and it wasn't as if I was using the wrong spelling of surname, I had the previous information to hand and it should have been a straightforward search. Searching census records is the same, the search engine doesn't seem to accept the place where a family lived and totally ignores any factual information, it just doesn't seem to work well for me, so perhaps I am adding the wrong information and or I don't know how to use the search facility. If I add Norfolk as a place where this family lived this search is totally ignored and also adding the village is ignored as well. Can anyone help me and tell me what I am doing wrong? And if you find the above burial record please let me know. I am sure I have seen a similar post but using the search facilities within ancestry I haven't found it. Best wishes, Lynne Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have her marriage to Frank Devenall Norton - watchmaker 16 May 1908 in Worcester. aged 21 Fathers occupation recorded as Professor of Music ( deceased) Her DOB as being 1887 I have the births of their 4 children recorded around the Gloucestershire are from 1909 to 11 then 1 birth in Oxfordshire. I cannot find them anywhere on the 1911 census. I cannot find Beatrices birth or her sister Ivy. I cannot find either of them on the 1891 or 1901 census or any trace of her father Samuel who we are told died young. The only recorded Beatrice G Round I found in an orphanage 1n 1901 Norland sq Kensington London where her dob is correct but her recorded place of birth is Scotland. I tried Scotlands people and there is record for Beatrice G Round showing but I think I need to pay a subscription to view it. I can't recall having this kind of a problem so early on in a research ever before, it's really got me stumped. I'm beginning to think that she has fabricated a life. Can anyone help please . In addition to their six children (three born in Ireland & three born in Ontario) there is also listed a William MONTGOMERY, born about 1800 in Ireland, occupation: weaver, all household members are listed as belonging to the Church of England. <> John & Ann (MONTGOMERY) PETERS then relocated to North Orillia, Simcoe County & bought a farm, they and their six children were counted in the 1871 census in North Orillia. Also listed in this household was a James MONTGOMERY (ba.1844 in Ireland, occupation farm laborer), all were listed as belonging to the Church of England. <> I very much want to know what family relationship existed between these MONTGOMERY males and with Mrs. Ann (MONTGOMERY) PETERS. 1. [SCOTLAND] Isabella Lowden (b. bet 1802-1807 in Scotland - d. 1881 in Southwark, London)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: MrLJM Surnames: Lowden, Loudon, Loudan, Louden, Nelson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/22404/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Good afternoon, I am looking for information about Isabella Lowdon, who was born in Scotland but the censuses don't pertain to the precise location and they seem to give various years for her birth (1803, 1804, 1805, 1806, 1807). So you can see how my predicament has arisen from the wonderful precision of the censuses. She married Alexander Nelson in 1820 in Southwark, and she gave birth to about six children with him (Alexander, Isabella, Mary Jane, Alexander, Elizabeth and Emma) before Alexander died, presumably around 1839. I thought she might have been the daughter of James Louden and Euphan Clark in Dunfermline, but that is not possible - unless she married somebody else (Archibald Henderson) when she was having her 3rd child and before she had her fourth, fifth and sixth with Alexander. So I was wondering if anyone could help me because I seem to be at a loss as to which Isabella Lowdon/Louden to choose, as there seems to be more than one Isabella Lowdon/Louden/Loudan who was born in Scotland around the period of 1803-1808, according to the Scottish baptismal records on familysearch.com anyway.
