Surnames: ALEXANDER, CRAIGIE, GOW, CLARK Classification: Lookup Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EgC.2ACE/8197.7 Message Board Post: I hope that you would be kind enough to look up a monumental inscription for me, as you have so generously done for so many others. My 3rd great grandparents were David Alexander and Jean Craigie. Jean Craigie was born about the year 1767 in Blairgowrie, and she married David Alexander in 1799 in Alyth, Perthshire. Their children were Janet b. 1800, Elspeth b. 1802, James b. 1803, Thomas b. 1805 and David b. 1809. David Alexander was a "Tenant in the Faulds of Bamff", just North of Alyth. David died before 1841, as his wife Jean is listed as Widowed, and residing in Little Bamff in the 1841 census. Jean is listed in the 1851 census as being 84 years old. I was hoping that you might find a monumental inscription of David Alexander and/or his wife Jean Alexander nee Craigie. Thank you for your time and efforts. Glenn Morrison, Ontario, Canada.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EgC.2ACE/4043.4544.2.1.1 Message Board Post: Jessie, I appreciate your offer of a copy of birth and amended birth for Markwell. He was my grandfather, but unfortunately I never did get to know him as he died shortly after my birth. My mother Bella (Isabella) b. 1908 in NY is still alive and is Markwell's last remaining child. She is not even aware of the name change, but she has talked about him going back to Scotland regarding his birth certificate. The assumption was that he needed a copy for employment. I have gotten in touch with Christine Peterson re Markwell through one of my cousins here in NY; and would be interested in knowing how you connect to the Bremner family. My address is 56 LaRue Dr., Huntington, NY 11743-2502, USA. Looking forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Carol Maguire

    1. Re: [SCOTLAND] PRECOGNITION
    2. Vikki
    3. A precognition is a statement. They still have them in lawyers offices, precognition agents, who collect statements for all kinds of cases.Normally,a retired lawyer or retired cops etc.. If there was a sudden death where the person had not been seeing a doctor for an illness for sometime.A statement is needed to work out whether it was suspicious or not.Still happens all the time. This is my knowledge of it.Please check more if you need too.
