    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EgC.2ACE/9956 Message Board Post: Hello, I am trying to establish the parents of a Alexander Ruickbie age 49 born in Scotland who appears on the 1901 British Census living at 10 Alma Street in Southwick, Durham, Sunderland with his wife Mary age 40 who was born in England N.K. The BDM site indicates that a Alexander Ruickbie was married September 1900 at Sunderland. Furthermore the BDM also shows a Mary Annie Smart being married same place and timing – I do not know if the two are related. I have checked thoroughly at the Scotlands People site and no record exists for this Alexander. I am well experienced with searches in Scotland but my knowledge of Englands on-line available information is lacking. Any information on Alexander's background or methods by which I could use online records in England to establish same would be greatly appreciated. LarryR

I am at a dead end. I though my #4 g/gfather was from Ireland. But I don't know for sure. Aur family story was that Peter had to leave home in a hurry and then we find him in Rowan Co., NC in 1766 and then he married Katherine Totorow there in 1802 and my #3 g/gf was born there in 1808. From that date down we have good info. John David Young m in 1828 Anna (Annie) Clemmer in Monroe Co., TN. I know that YOUNG was one of the first names in Scotland. I hope one day to find my Peter. Thanks again Roland Donovan Young Fresno/Clovis, Ca. USA

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Burkett Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/4300/EgC.2ACE/7891.1.1 Message Board Post: I might have a bit of information on at least one line of JC Burkett family. If I am correct one J.C. Burkett was my grandfather, and he was married to Rose Ann (Lockett or Cox, or Petru not sure exactly as she had been adopted) Rose gave him 3 sons one who was Ambrose Burkett (my father), then John (Johnny) Burkett, and a possible Jimmy Burkett. They divorce just after my father was born in 1929 (Louisiana) due to the "red hair" curse that still shows up in each generation (imagine that!). Ambrose had two children when he died in 1972, myself Beverly and a son Brett Franklin Burkett. My GGrandfather was Ambrose Burkett, my GG Grandfather was Napoleon "Nip" who married a Native American woman (or so I was told) and was a blacksmith/fisherman in LA. If this is not the same line of Burketts then if anyone knows where I can find MY line of them please let me know. Also if anyone has any info on Freelove Whatley's children I would love to hear from you. I would never have thought Burkett was an Irish name. Napoleon Burkett spoke fluent French as well as his Metis wife, so go figure!
