Always delighted to talk to another Strachan descendant. Would love to see any info on your line & would be happy to share anything I can help you with. I believe you know, but Thomas Laught Strachan was my GG Grandfather...I am descended from his second daughter, Elizabeth Howat Strachan. Judy, I believe is descended from his first daughter Ann Wallace Strachan. I can't help Judy on the ship that Thomas & his wife Jeannie came over on, but by family stories & the Census records, I believe they arrived here in 1879. Would love to hear from you. If you want you can e-mail me direct (plfranz126@msn.com or plfranz@earthlink.net). Phyllis

I would love to see anything you have on the Strachan grave markers. I see in the history that Ian sent to me back in 2003 that it looks like Thomas L Strachan is the only one that came to the USA. It seems the rest of the family loved Scotland and stayed. Would you be open to the thought of sending me some reprints of the stones you see of our relatives? I love to keep my history that way. I have birth records, death records, obituarys from newspapers and even some pictures. There are a few that were killed and I went as far as to get the newspaper articles of the deaths. It just makes them more real. If there is anything I have that may be of interest to you please let me know and I'll try my hardest to get it for you. My big stumbling block is where Thomas and Jane came into the US. I would love to know the name of the ship they used and when they actually got here. I'm not quite sure where to begin to look for that. You may email me directly if you like. It's DIGGERANDSONS@AOL.COM. I look forward to hearing from you again. Judy

The group will use a combination of traditional source document genealogy and genetic genealogy (DNA). The objective is to sort out the WADE lines and hopefully find where they connect. All those who descend from WADE lines, including those with variant spellings of the surname, such as WAID, WAIDE, etc., are encouraged to join. We currently have seven members in the project. This is not a commercial undertaking and the only thing I personally stand to gain from the project is expand my genealogy (and hopefully you will expand yours). This is your opportunity to establish scientifically what your paper genealogy could not do by itself. You can learn about the WADE project (and genetic genealogy in general) at the web site here: http://home.cfl.rr.com/wade3/ You can also contact me directly at ewade@cfl.rr.com Thank you, Eldon
