Hi Kim was interested in your message as my Grandmother was Annie Sneddon JOHNSTONE from Fife - her parents being Peter Murray JOHNSTONE b24 Jul 1873, and Margaret Watson CREE b 18 Feb 1873 - they were married 6 Jun 1892 in Dunfermline. Annies siblings include Margaret, Mina, John, and William. It's Margaret Watson CREE's line which takes me into my SNEDDON's - she is the daughter of John CREE b 23 Jan 1842 in Lanark, and Ann SNEDDON. Can you perchance see any connections? The name was in some family records that I have at home. I new the name of Alexander long before I new of Barry Sweetman. It came also from The Blaisdell papers and a woman that does geneology for them. She is the first that told me that I was not a true Blasdell because of Alfred taking his stepfathers name. It is an interesting puzzle at the very least and I appreciate all your help.

It was meant as only one possibility, of perhaps dozens or more scenarios. I have just now seen old queries posted by your Barry, and in them he is quite uncertain of the name of Alexander being correct. How do you even know the 1820 birth date is correct? Usual Scottish child naming patterns would indicate other than Alexander. The road forward is still the same – you need confirmed hard source data from a government or other recognized source, not here-say or wishful thinking. A name, a place and a date have not been confirmed in this manner. Back to the drawing board time. Larry
